Getting Ready for the London Guitar Show

Today is all about getting everything ready for the London Guitar Show tomorrow. The house is a mess with guitars everywhere, but that’s how it usually goes the day before a big show. I’ll been checking over each instrument, giving them a final tune-up, and packing up the display rigging so everything’s ready to roll first thing in the morning. It's a very long drive from here in Yorkshire to London so I like to make sure I'm well prepared the day before.

While I’m sorting gear and making sure nothing gets left behind, I thought I’d share a look at two of my builds from this year that I’m especially proud of; first up is a custom SG-style guitar I made for a client who had a very clear vision from the start. It’s finished in a deep, glowing red, and I added a few touches of my own, handmade Mother of Pearl volume knobs and a wooden scratch plate. I love to use natural materials where possible. The new owner was absolutely thrilled (see review post), and I have to admit, I was a bit sad to see it go but that's the way it is with all of my guitars!

The other build is a purple electric that turned more than a few heads as soon as it was finished. It’s fitted with Old Bones pickups and a custom copper scratch plate, which gives it a really distinctive appearance. That one didn’t hang around for long!

I’m really looking forward to getting everything set up tomorrow and chatting with people about guitars, building, and all the bits in between. If you’re heading to the show, come by and say hi. It's the best feeling in the world when people try out my guitars!

See you there.
